What is Yin yoga about?

Yin Yoga is a gentle, meditative style of yoga that focuses on holding poses for an extended period, typically between three to five minutes. It targets the connective tissues, such as ligaments and fascia, promoting flexibility and joint health. This practice encourages relaxation and mindfulness, allowing practitioners to deepen their breath and connect with their inner selves. Yin Yoga is great for balancing more active forms of exercise and fostering a sense of calm and tranquility.
Yin yoga has been created by Paul Grilley, and there are different approaches to practice and teach yin yoga. Some , relying on Grilley's focus, approach it with a functional anatomy focus. Highlighting the uniqueness of each human on the anatomical, joint, skeleton level.

Another approach is cultivating mindfulness, and more of an energetical focus on the meridians and organ health, including psychology and fostering emotional balance, this style is mostly transmitted from Sarah Power's students.
Kata van Doesselaar has been studying both approaches, and has added her own fascia studies and the great wisdom of her breath master, dr Norma Delaney. Who has been a master in creating a sacred space where through the breath and intention one can connect to their Soul and Spirit ina. loving and compassionate way, creating a lot of healing and progress in the embodiment process.

An incredibly rich training to help you to understand and embody and teach the Essentials of yin yoga, Chinese 5 elements, meridians and organ health, the latest fascia theory and the art of sequencing, teaching yin, and individual coaching.
The training consists of two parts: 
1.  Yin yoga fundamentals (anatomy, philosophy, fascia teachings and poses, modifications, sequencing).
2. Fundamentals of the 5 elements theory of TCM and, organ health, psychology, meridian based energetical approach,
theory, practice. Furthermore our training includes teachings on how to hold a safe space,
the practice of conscious breath, art of teaching and sequencing.

The Yin Yoga Essentials

The Program

The training takes place: FEBR 10-14 LIVE online  from 10-18.00h each day.
via ZOOM. With recordings available afterwards FREE of charge.
It is also possible to book your spot and watch all sessions afterwards in your own timing.

Our course includes:

  • 9 yin yoga sessions, 2 yin-yang sessions,

  • 3 meditations, 1 yoga nidra session and a special breathing session.

  • Informative and extensive lectures

  • Yin & Yang philosophy

  • Anatomy of yin yoga, posture analysis with functions, modifications for 36 yin poses, using of props

  • Fascia theory and fascia health

  • TCM fundamentals : 5 elements and meridian theory and applications,

  • emotional balance, mindfulness, tantric buddhism,

  • Self care, self healing: awareness on yin & yang balance in life. Signs of out of balance and therapeutic use of Yin Yoga. 

  • Teaching skills:  the art of teaching yin yoga, the art of sequencing yin yoga, the role of a teacher, the art of holding space for oneself and students.  

  • The important of the compassionate relaxed allowing breath in Yin yoga practice

  • Teaching skills enhancements, the contraindications, alternatives for Yin yoga practice, difference between restorative & yin yoga, yin yoga & pregnancy and postnatal period.

  • Trauma informed approach with elaboration on nourishing and healing aspects of yin Yoga. 

  • Journaling of your own experiences, and sharing experiences with a wonderful online community in our closed FB group. You can ask for support at any time you need it.

  • Inspiring assessments to integrate the information, experiences. 

  • Q&A chat session with Kata to share your journey and receive feedback on your questions,

  • receive constructive feedback on your coursework. and sequencing and teaching.

  • Our training is registered with Yoga Alliance, and you can add the hours to any existing teacher profile on Yoga Alliance.org
    OR you can decide to build up your hours to 200h Yin Yoga teacher certification with our consecutive modules, online or in person.

Presence, connectedness. In our training we work with a compassionate approach, learning to embrace ourself as we are in the moment, and allow natural processes to unfold in their own magnificent ways.​
