What is somatic Yoga about?
Somatic yoga is a gentle, mindful style of yoga that focuses on developing a deep awareness of the body and its sensations.
It's influenced by somatics, a movement therapy that uses small, slow movements to re-educate the brain to move muscles more consciously.
Here are some characteristics of somatic yoga:
Body-mind integration
Somatic yoga integrates the mind, body, and spirit through movement and awareness.
Self-compassion
Somatic yoga can help you develop a more self-compassionate relationship with yourself and your body.
Stress relief
Somatic yoga can help reduce symptoms of physical and mental stress.
Focus on internal sensations
Somatic yoga focuses on how movements feel from the inside, rather than how they look.
Mindful movement
Somatic yoga involves slow, gentle movements performed with awareness and focused attention on the body's sensations.
Trauma sensitive awareness
Understanding what trauma means on energetical, emotional and mental level, and how to liberate ourself from stuck emotional packages.
Somatic yoga integrates the mind, body, and spirit through movement and awareness.
Learn new ways of sequencing, creating your own advanced yin poses, or find ways to get your students deeper into the Yin quality and support them awakening to who they truly are

Online Somatic Yoga Teacher Training with Kata
Discover this new Somatic Yoga module designed to support people in deeply compassionate, relevant ways for today’s world. As modern life places increasing pressure on the nervous system, we are collectively awakening to emotional needs, trauma awareness, and new paths of healing. This training responds to that call—offering conscious movement, expression, and connection that help students feel safe, supported, and whole.
A Trauma-Aware, Compassion-Led Teaching Method
Developed from decades of Kata’s personal practice, learning journey and professional experience in yoga, breathwork, healing, and trauma integration, this module moves beyond rigid, forceful traditions. Inspired by compassionate breath teachings, nervous-system care and awareness, fascia and movement work, and trauma-informed approaches, it dissolves limiting structures to create freedom, sensitivity, and true embodiment—allowing teachers and students to move, feel, and live with greater ease and authenticity.
Learn specific sequences, sacred space holding, a deeper understanding of trauma and body mind connection.

Step into a powerful space
Being with ourselves is the most powerful space..discovering our inner resources, our answers, and our wholeness, and strength within, in the embrace of our Spirit. Yet, for many people , it is a confusing to go within. As we may not have keys on how to navigate, how to process what we discover, we may feel a bit lost.
Somatic practices allow us to slow down enough to feel our own self beyond the minds concepts, and in that sense of just being and exploring, and feeling and sensing, all of a sudden we may just come back to a simple and natural wholeness. Presence, connectedness. Through the 4 somatic Yin trainings that I have offered online this last year, people reported they loved having their own intimate space for the practices, which allowed them to go even deeper then in a group setting in person.
