Curriculum

Discover Kata's 5 elements healing Yin Yoga Teacher Training in Bali, in the spiritual energies of BALI- approved by Yoga Alliance

Kata has been teaching her Yin yoga training for more than 11 years, the content has been evolving and developing with time, as Kata studied more and more about fascia, anatomy, and TCM and somatics. We believe that it is an incredibly rich course, as it combines different aspects which are usually taught in separate modules. Functional anatomy, 5 elements theory, meridian and organ health, trauma sensitive psychology, mindfulness, teacher skills, yoga philosophy and sequencing. How to be a space holder.

  • Yin poses (basic poses & variations)

  • Understanding the effects of the Yin poses from physiologic, anatomic, energetic, emotional, mental, therapeutic perspective.

  • Basics of Traditional Chinese Medicine (meridians, elements)

  • Understanding the holistic principles that apply to our health, body and our life. Learning how to balance the energy flow in specific meridians to shift the health of specific organs, and transform areas in our emotional, mental our practical-physical life.

  • Learning to embody the yin quality in our life, opening up to surrendering, receptivity, compassion, stillness, self-love and acceptance.

  • Learning one's own unique anatomical structure and principles for approaching each and every skeletal constitution in a unique way (learning adaptations, variations for each body type, and each pose)

  • Modifications that can help with a therapeutic approach for problems such as back, spine problems, hip, pelvic, shoulder sensitivities, all kinds of joint, muscle and connective tissue complaints.

  • Use props for each pose and each problem

  • Philosophy of Yin Yoga (such as mindfulness, breath awareness, loving kindness)

  • Learning to listen inwards, getting to know one's patterns, belief systems, what creates our perspective our life.  And how can one shift them in a soulful way.

  • Meditation techniques, mantras, breathing practices (Soulbreath) to calm the mind to reveal one's deeper truths and rebalance ourselves.

  • Learning how to create sequences from yin yoga poses according to one's intention, for individual use, group classes.

  • Basics of a Yin-Yang practice, and how to create sequences in that beautifully rebalancing style.

  • Learning to hold a safe sacred space for the students transformation, healing and rejuvenation experience. Learning to hold a steady healing space for emotional release and support integration of lost parts of ourselves.

  • Understanding somatics and trauma sensitive space. Learning to loosen rules and structures in order to gain a deeper connection to Self.

Yin Yoga & Yoga nidra Teacher Training Overview (70H)

This intensive 8-day, 70-hour Yin Yoga Teacher Training empowers you to create deeply healing and rebalancing Yin Yoga and Yoga Nidra sessions—for groups, private clients, or personal practice. You will learn how to design both long and short Yin classes, tailored to individual needs, while cultivating a safe, sacred, and compassionate “yin space” within yourself and for others. The training emphasizes personal experience, presence, and embodied learning, allowing you to heal and reconnect with your own Yin energy first—so you can authentically guide others on their healing journey.

Yin Yoga Foundations, Trauma-Sensitive Practice & Healing Benefits

The included 50-hour Yin Yoga module covers fundamental yin poses, modifications, transition poses, and intelligent sequencing based on asana families, functional anatomy, and the human body. You will explore our holistic TCM approach, meridian therapy, and Buddhist psychology to work with organs, emotions, and energy flow. The course also introduces trauma-sensitive principles, helping you hold a safe and supportive space for emotional integration. With regular Yin practice, you’ll learn how to rebalance physical, mental, and emotional imbalances—supporting conditions such as stress, anxiety, hormonal issues, digestive concerns, back pain, low energy, emotional blockages, and more.

Yoga Nidra, Transformation & the Bali Experience

The 20-hour Yoga Nidra component takes the healing power of Yin Yoga even deeper, teaching you how to guide sessions that reset the nervous system, support emotional healing, boost creativity, and cultivate inner peace. Combined daily Yin and Yin-Yang practices with Yoga Nidra gently lead you into a steady, compassionate connection with Self, where inner wisdom naturally arises. Held in the sacred lands of Bali, this training is enriched with rituals, temple visits, cleansing ceremonies, and ancient Indonesian practices—creating a truly life-changing, transformative experience in a supportive and magical environment.

About Your Teacher

Kata van Doesselaar - Szenasi EYRT500, EYRT200 is an experienced Yoga Teacher, breath & massage therapist, healer and coach. She is practicing yoga for 20 years, and teaching yoga for 15 years.


She has been trained in various styles (Iyengar, Ashtanga, Vinyasa) until she found her root Teacher Shiva Rea, that she felt the most inspired by.
So Kata's primary style became the Prana Vinyasa Flow Yoga (Krishnamacharya lineage) that Los Angeles based Shiva Rea founded, and she kept learning from Shiva and assisting in Shiva's teacher trainings and eventually also becoming one of the very few global teacher trainers, sharing Shiva's unique training with international students in Ibiza. 


Besides her dynamic practice Kata always enjoyed stillness and meditation, so she loved discovering Yin Yoga, with an open heart, melting into stillness and surrendering to bring balance into her busy life. She went to study with Sarah Powers and Paul Grilley's senior teachers to learn all of it, so she can transmit the gifts of yin yoga in an authentic and pure way. Kata has been training with her Teachers more than 1000hrs. 
Diving into the 5 elements yin yoga fascinated her so much, that she went on to study acupuncture, and recently added fascia theory as well.
Kata is now based in Bali, and shares her gifts through Yoga, Awareness trainings and personal sessions.

As a mother of two & her rich experience of healing, self-healing, her biggest passion is to inspire people to grow into their full potential, and find their true Self.

Accomodation

Single or shared 2 pers rooms in a peaceful eco resort in the middle of rice fields,  not far from sacred temples, waterfalls. Sweet ricefield views around the resort,  about 15 min from Ubud center, wonderful Spa, swiming pool and the kindest Balinese people to take care of us.

TRAINING ONLY FOR LOCAL PARTICIPANTS: 800€

WHAT IS ALL INCLUDED IN THE FEE:

7 nights accommodation, daily healthy meals, excursions to temple, water purification ceremony, rituals, waterfall excursion. Ancient tea-ceremony session, by local healer and guide. Daily 2 yoga classes, lectures, theory and practice, Yoga nidra sessions, teaching labs, printed yoga teacher training manual with incredible info on all content, poses, meridians, fascia, yin-yang, the art of teaching Yin yoga & Yoga nidra. 

WHAT IS NOT INCLUDED

Your flights to Bali (Denpasar airport), your airport transfers to the resort, (we can help to organise), your tourist Visa on arrival, and tourist tax, your transfer from the hotel on the departure day to your choice of destination.
Optional massages, private sessions with Kata. Balinese healer session.

Certification

You need to participate in all sessions in the training and complete a written coursework after the course to be sent in. After approval you will be sent your certificate of  70H Yin Yoga & yoga nidra, that you can register with Yoga Alliance (post educational hours) or you can build up with other modules to your 200hrs Yoga Teacher certification and then register with Yoga Alliance International (India)

Cancellation policy

Deposits are non refundable. 
We keep a non refundable deposit of €600  if the cancelation happens up until 4 weeks before this teacher training.

If cancellation happens the last 4 weeks before the training, there is only a refund above €1100.
